in the last weekDr. Obileke is an excellent doctor..very knowledgeable, more than any other doctor I’ve seen so far in Halifax. Unfortunately, the front-end staff is an absolute disaster: communication is poor, coordination is the worst, and they often play around with the schedule. They also rarely provide confirmations, which makes the process frustrating. Edit : we had a visit this month and there seems to be some improvement with the reception

8 months agoI have been a patient at this clinic for several years, but unfortunately, my experiences have consistently been disappointing. The front desk staff often come across as unfriendly and unapproachable, and I have not felt treated with the level of respect and courtesy one would expect in a healthcare setting. Reaching the clinic by phone is extremely difficult, I am routinely placed on hold, and booking or rescheduling appointments feels unnecessarily complicated. Additionally, there seems to be a lack of follow-up regarding test results or diagnostics; I’ve had to take the initiative to call in and book appointments myself. While I understand how fortunate it is to have a family doctor, I do not feel supported or advocated here, and I am now reconsidering whether this clinic is the right place for my ongoing care.

9 months agoI just met with Dr. Ebube Obileke for the first time this morning, as I was placed with him for a new family doctor for my 4 year old son and I. I was told to put on a mask at the front desk, and asked the woman if it was possible to not wear one. I explained that have issues with claustrophobia and that masking can cause me to feel panicked. She rejected my request to accommodate, so I told her I’d have to leave my nose out so I don’t get claustrophobic. I’m also diagnosed with ADD which is a neurological disorder that causes severe sensory issues and QUALIFIES me for medical mask exemption. Dr. Ebube Obileke Did not care about this at all and refused to accommodate me. When I met him, he was not friendly towards me whatsoever, probably since I was not putting my mask on correctly. Did not say hello, or introduce himself to and my son and I at all. During the appointment he said “You know, if you don’t wear the mask properly it serves no purpose.” To which I proceeded to explain that my ADD and claustrophobia makes it very difficult for me to do so and why. He then chose to chuckle at me… with a look on his face that indicated that he did not believe me. I then asked him “Why are you looking at me that way?.. you’re looking at me like you don’t believe me.” (Since it was extremely rude, dismissive, and terrible bedside manner. ). He proceeded to tell me that sometimes people have to do things that make them uncomfortable sometimes. I explained that was not something I’m able to do. The funny thing is, I require a masking exemption, but cannot get one…… because I have NO family doctor to issue the exemption due to my neurological disorder. Ironic. It seems Dr. Ebube Obileke does not have much of an understanding of ADD and the sensory issues people like me have to deal with. Nor does he want to accommodate, understand, or empathize with the situation people with these issues deal with. He refused us care, and now me and my son have no doctor. I’ve never had to deal with a doctor that was as rude as this man.. and I’ve met a lot of doctors. Why would I want a family doctor who chooses to invalidate my symptoms? I would much rather have no family doctor at all, than a doctor who treats people like that.
