Graduating from the Military Medical School in Mexico City in 1981, with the rank of Major Medical Surgeon, he embarked on a journey of medical excellence. Completing his Rotating and Postgraduate Internship at the Central Military Hospital in 1982, he laid the groundwork for his specialization. His pursuit continued with a General Surgery Residency at the Military Hospital of Guadalajara Jalisco, concluding in 1985. Driven by his passion for plastic surgery, he undertook residency training at the Jalisciense Institute of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, earning honors upon culmination in 1988. Further enriching his expertise, he completed a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the University of California School of Medicine in 1989, marking the beginning of a distinguished career.In 1990, he established the hair transplant group in Tijuana, BC, and underwent comprehensive training under the mentorship of renowned experts, Dr. William Rassman and Dr. Robert Bernstein. Four years later, in 1994, he realized his vision by founding Gardel Hair Restoration Institute and Gardel Plastic Surgery in Tijuana, BC, Mexico. Renowned for pioneering advancements, Gardel Hair Restoration Institute introduced the use of high-resolution binaural microscopes in 1998, alongside the practice of conducting Megasessions, setting new standards of excellence in hair restoration surgery in Mexico.
