Dr. Llorenia Muir-Green, an accomplished dermatologist, began her academic journey at the University of the West Indies (UWI), where she earned a double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Following her passion for medicine, she continued her studies at UWI, graduating with a medical degree before specializing in Clinical Dermatology at Cardiff University, where she achieved distinction. Her commitment to advancing her expertise led her to receive the prestigious 2013 Fellowship in Hair and Scalp Disorders from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Muir-Green’s dedication to her field is evident in her active memberships with the North American Hair Research Society, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the Caribbean Dermatology Association.

Dr. Muir-Green has significantly contributed to dermatological services in Jamaica. She served as the Immediate Past President of the Dermatology Association of Jamaica and is currently an Associate Lecturer in Dermatology at UWI. She played a pivotal role in re-establishing the Dermatology service at Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, where she conducts a monthly Hair and Scalp Disorder Clinic. Additionally, she founded the Hair Loss Clinic at the Dermatology Clinic at National Chest Hospital in Kingston in 2014. Dr. Muir-Green has presented her work at numerous conferences, including those of the American Academy of Dermatology, Caribbean Dermatology Association, and the Medical Association of Jamaica’s Annual Symposium. Her passion for Cosmetic Chemistry and Hair care inspired her to create a blog, www.askthehairdoc.com, where she shares her insights on the science of hair loss and hair care, supported by active social media engagement.
