His first experience was with the FUT technique, also known as Strip Harvesting, which provided him with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of hair transplantation. This initial exposure allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in surgical hair restoration.

Over the years, Dr. Otávio has continuously honed his skills in hair restoration, striving to excel in a field that remains relatively niche in Brazil. In 2014, he dedicated himself to mastering the FUE technique, which involves the individual extraction of follicular units. To enhance his expertise, he sought guidance from the pioneering Dr. John Cole, further refining his skills in this advanced method.
