in the last weekI’m really happy with my experience at Doku Clinic and with Dr. Engin Öcal. I had been struggling with an issue with my nose for a long time, and thanks to Dr. Öcal, the result so far is even better than I imagined. The whole team was very kind and attentive. They always took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of. The hotel and transportation were also great and very well organized. I would definitely recommend Dr. Engin Öcal and Doku Clinic!

a week agoMy experience with Doku Clinic has been excellent. This is a very professional operation with a real structure in place. They don’t simply perform your procedure—they own the process from start to finish: airport pickup, transportation to and from the clinic, consultations, bloodwork, imaging, the procedure itself and aftercare. The clinic is beautiful—modern, polished and almost like the set of a television show. Everyone working here seems young, energetic and ridiculously good-looking. It’s almost as if Zoolander was responsible for selecting the staff. More importantly, everyone has been professional, friendly and excellent at their job. I’ve communicated with several team members who each have different roles. Yaren has been my main point of contact while in Istanbul and has been fantastic, coordinating my consultation, helping with translation and communication between departments, and even working additional treatments into my schedule when I mentioned I was interested in a facial and dermatology services. Before the transplant, I had a facial and regenerative treatment, along with PRP and exosomes for my hair. The dermatologist warned me that my face would temporarily look like it was covered in mosquito bites. That was an understatement—I looked like I had boils. Ironically, those injections hurt more than the actual hair transplant. The transplant itself was incredibly organized. They spent about 20 minutes designing and refining my hairline, with the doctor reviewing it and making recommendations before proceeding. Extraction took roughly two hours, followed by a short break with a sandwich, juice and water. Implantation then took close to five hours. Did it hurt? Surprisingly, no. I’d put both extraction and implantation at around 2/10 discomfort as the anesthesia wore off. After everything was finished, they fed me dinner, went through the aftercare instructions, and provided a neck pillow, antibiotics, pain medication and everything I needed for recovery. Even after such a long day, I never felt rushed. The entire experience made me realize something about medical tourism in Istanbul: people aren’t necessarily coming here simply because it’s cheaper than the U.S. Clinics like Doku have developed the infrastructure, experience, systems and reputation to make the entire process remarkably seamless. My only constructive criticism would be better information sharing between departments. I had to repeat some information I’d already provided when moving from the hair-transplant side to dermatology, although there may be medical/privacy reasons for this. Obviously, the most important result—my hair—will take months to evaluate, and I’ll update this review as it grows in. But based on everything I can evaluate today—the facility, organization, communication, staff, procedure and aftercare—five stars without hesitation. And yes, I still think Zoolander may have been involved in hiring the staff.
