Dr. Keimun Slaughter was born in Pensacola, Florida and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where he attended The University of Georgia as a biology premed Major and completed his medical school training at Morehouse School of Medicine. He completed 2 years of General and Vascular Surgery at Duke University Medical Center before completing his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Residency at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.He decided to focus his training exclusively on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck and completed a 1-year fellowship under the directorship of past president Dr. Edwin Williams with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also completed additional training with emphasis on Hair Restoration Surgery under the directorship of Dr. Michael Beehner, a coalition member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and Platinum follicle recipient.Dr. Slaughter is unique as a surgeon with dual board certifications in both Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He is a diplomate in both the AFPRS and ABOTO-HNS and an associate member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He has attained the highest level of credentialing afforded to his specialty.Dr. Slaughter has received numerous awards throughout his training including excellence in teaching awards at both Duke and UNC and surgical dissection awards for his unparalleled technical surgical skill. He has authored several scientific publications including research articles and book chapters on various topics ranging from scar contracture scales, vascular lesions to hair graft survival rates. He is well respected by his peers and prides himself on detailed and compassionate patient care and meticulous surgical technique.Dr. Slaughter is married to his college sweetheart, Shavonne and has 4 children, Olivia, Jackson, Ethan and Grayson. His interests outside of medicine include playing sports, cooking, trying new cuisine, traveling, saltwater aquariums, wine making and spending time with his friends and family.

2 weeks agoDr. Slaughter does excellent work. I had a terrible MOHs surgery at another office and had signed up to go right to Dr. Slaughter. he reconstructed my face. It would've been a disaster otherwise. I strongly recommend him for any facial surgery or reconstruction.

a month agoI am disappointed with my overall experience because the procedure I received was not what was represented during my consultation. Before committing to surgery, I specifically asked multiple times whether the entire thinning area on both sides could be covered. I even asked the patient coordinator to confirm this with the doctor because I wanted to make sure my expectations were realistic before moving forward. I was repeatedly reassured that the coverage I was seeking could be achieved. I even offered to travel in person for a consultation if necessary. However, on the day of surgery and afterward, I was told that the number of grafts needed to fully cover the area could not be placed. This directly contradicted what was discussed during the consultation process. Had I been given this information from the beginning, I would have been able to make a more informed decision about whether to proceed with the surgery. I completed my 14-month follow-up and the results are not what I was led to expect. My main concern is not that the doctor and staff were unkind—in fact, Dr. Slaughter and Kerry were both professional and pleasant throughout the process. My concern is that the consultation created expectations that were ultimately not delivered. I believe patients deserve complete transparency regarding what can realistically be achieved. It is extremely disappointing to invest significant time, money, and hope into a procedure expecting one outcome, only to learn later that the treatment plan and achievable coverage were different from what was originally discussed. My experience would have been much better if realistic limitations had been clearly communicated from the start.

7 months agoI am very pleased with having my procedure done with Dr Slaughter and his staff. They made me feel very comfortable and being taken care of. Everyone was very helpful and supportive. They are very nice and I will tell everyone that I had a great experience.
