a week agoI had two hair transplant procedures over about a 8 year time period by Doctor True. (This was 2007 and 2015, but I want to share my experience for the benefit of anyone pondering a procedure.) I had a lot of swelling on my forehead, and I looked like a Star Trek Character after the first procedure, until it healed in the several days after the first procedure. The results were quite weak after the first transplant, and were somewhat imbalanced in areas. So, Doctor True offered to do a follow-up second procedure to try to fix the first one. The second procedure didn't change things much. People have staired at my scalp in a bad way ever since I had the hair transplant procedures because I look like a bad hair transplant ad. No one has EVER complimented my hair since the two were completed. In fact, I get odd stairing looks which are quite imbarassing Before the first transplant Dr. True said there would be a "small" balding area left in the crown area. Well, it is anything but a "small" balding area left after the transplant. I was left with a quite large balding area in the crown area. And, very weak see- through hair where the tranplant was completed. I believe my scalp looked much more natural prior to ever having anything done at True and Doran. And, the donor areas left that if I have a barber cut my hair too short it looks like patchy divits, and there are scars if I shave my head. If I knew beforehand what the results would be, I would never have had the procedure(s) done at True and Doran. Instead of giving me a good feeling, it has given me the grief of having to wear a hat most of the time, in order to try to hide my scalp from embarrassing looks from people who look at my scalp area (lack of any decent amount of hair, and a look of a bad hair transplant.)

2 years agoI had the privilege of receiving a hair transplant from Dr. Robert Dorin three years ago, and I can confidently say that my experience and results have been nothing short of exceptional. What truly sets Dr. Dorin apart is his bedside manner. His compassion and ability to connect with his patients played a significant role in my decision to have the procedure done in New York rather than considering options abroad. Peter Ackerman and the rest of the team have also been terrific. As a side note, most of the barbers I've been to since the procedure haven't realized that I've had a hair transplant. Those who did notice were quick to mention that it's among the best they've ever seen. This speaks volumes about the precision and artistry involved in Dr. Dorin's work. I continue to recommend Dr. Dorin and his team to friends and colleagues, and should I ever need another procedure or touch-up in the future, I will gladly return. Thanks again.
