3 months agoDr. Lam and his staff are incredible. He provides healing on a much deeper level than just physical appearance. I’ve had a painful scar on my body since I was a little girl and have tried many different treatments, and I’m so glad I found Dr. Lam because his treatment plan has worked wonders. I am free from pain and my scar looks better than it ever has before. I’ve had great experiences with all the medical assistants, and Lizzy has always taken the extra time and care to make me feel comfortable and supported. I look forward to my office visits because I always feel great when I’m leaving!

a month agoI had a FUT hair transplant done by Dr. Lam about 1 year ago. The results were excellent, but I should mention that this was actually my second hair transplant, and that Dr. Lam was touching up the disappointing work done by a different (well-known in the area) hair transplant office. You should definitely schedule a consultation ASAP because it can take months before he will be able to see you, and then potentially months longer before the actual operation takes place, and then of course there is a lengthy time you need to wait (about a year) before you actually see results. The procedure itself was entirely painless and felt like it was over in an instant. They didn't use anesthesia or put me under, so I am shocked that I fell asleep so quickly and was out cold for the entire operation. At the other place I had gone to for my first hair transplant, I was awake and highly uncomfortable the entire time, and they had stretched out the surgery to take place over 2 days. So I can say from experience that having this procedure done by Dr. Lam was definitely as easy and painless as it gets. Dr. Lam's price was also slightly lower than the place I had first gone to. Healing and results can be slow, but that's just how it is. After 1 year, I was really happy with the results. The top of my head does randomly get pretty itchy sometimes, but I couldn't say for sure whether this is simply my natural body being itchy normally, or a side-effect of the transplant. The staff were very helpful and informative as well. On a final note, I am a transgender woman and Dr. Lam was entirely sensitive and courteous towards me - not all of his staff always were, but he was quick to correct anyone if they misgendered me, which I thought was very kind of him. I was also impressed that he was thoroughly knowledgeable about working with transgender patients. At the first transplant office I went to, they had never worked with any women before, at all - which should have been a huge red flag for me, but hey I was ignorant and naïve at the time. Dr. Lam is definitely the person you want to go to, whether you're a man or woman.

4 months agoAlways a great experience at Dr. Lam's office. I have been a patient for over 17 years and he continues to provide his individualized care at every visit. He always strives to do what is the best for YOU and explains all the new techniques available to you. Since I now reside in Florida, I would not let anyone else touch my face or forehead. The trip back to see him every 6 months to 1 year is worth it!

a month agoI received a 3,000-graft hair transplant in August 2021. I’ve waited over two years for my results to ensure I give an accurate and fair assessment of my experience. The surgical procedure was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff made sure I was comfortable and at ease. True to their word, I didn't feel a thing during the surgery. The coordination and nursing staff were incredibly attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in that regard. While I received some growth, I am not 100% satisfied with the results. When I raised my concerns with the surgeon, I was given unsatisfactory solutions, which was disappointing considering the amount of money spent on the hair transplant. I was advised to try topical hair growth treatments, which was disheartening because I could have tried that option before opting for surgery, and I wanted a more permanent solution. The facility doesn't offer a satisfaction guarantee to its clients. The only option I was given was a "discounted" rate and hope for a better outcome the second time around. I was aware of the possibility of a second transplant to attain a denser hair coverage. However, I had hoped that the initial 3000 grafts would suffice and that I wouldn't need additional surgery. Dr. Lam has a confident and convincing demeanor. He moves very quickly, making interacting with him tough - it was sometimes frustrating. During my consultation, he said, "I go big or go home," and mentioned that I would be absolutely satisfied with the number of grafts I was getting; which, in comparison to other consultations I had, was double the amount. While that could have been a red flag, the number matched what one other very experienced surgeon said. I figured since they were both experienced with Afro hair, it was the right thing. One thing that you should consider is that some people are better salesmen than they are surgeons. With 3000 grafts, I still have bald patches in my hairline. The technician said they couldn't pack too much hair in one spot, or it wouldn't grow. I feel that should have been explained during the consultation. Perhaps fewer grafts would have been better, or my hair may have required different post-op instructions. While my results were not everything I wanted, the staff fulfilled their responsibilities. I am grateful for the effort put into helping me achieve some new hair growth. Dr. Lam did an excellent job on my incision; the scar is barely detectable. However, I believe that there is room for improvement; especially in addressing the concerns of dissatisfied customers and taking appropriate actions to resolve them.
