2 weeks agoI completely trust Dr Rawal’s specialization in hair loss and how to improve scalp and hair health and growth. She and her staff took the time to review and learn my medical history and make individualized treatment options. They are all engaging and friendly. The evaluation methods of comparison photos from one year to the next, along with and magnification to visualize the hair size was reassuring to see progress.

a month agoI don’t take writing a negative review lightly, but felt it was unethical to not report my experience with Dr Rawal. My first consultation with Dr Rawal was July 18, 2024. I had done quite a bit of research into different hair restoration procedures and knew that many non-surgical attempts had less-than-promising results, so I was surprised to see her office covered with marketing materials upselling every possible treatment option, even those with low efficacy, but I told myself it might make sense based on her patients. Personally, I was only interested in a hair transplant and that is what I had come in to be consulted for. Dr Rawal used a magnifying camera to show me that hair my was “minimizing” and that my hair, in its current state, wasn’t appropriate for a surgical transplantation. She went on to prescribe me with PRP treatment, dutasteride, Nutrafol, and tried to get me to buy a red laser cap as well. I bought about half of it (over $2k) and went home, feeling saddened that I wasn’t a good candidate for the transplant. After a while, I realized the dutasteride had side effects that were never discussed with me and I quit taking them. I also decided to get a second opinion on the quality of my donor site. 18 months later, following none of Dr Rawal’s advice, I was told by a Chicago-based surgeon that my donor site was notably “above average” and that he’d have no trouble completing my procedure. He did not suggest any supplemental treatments. We scheduled my transplant, and indeed, he was able to harvest an additional 400 grafts more than his initial estimate from my donor area, which he incorporated at no charge. Many of his team members commented on the quality of my grafts and we stayed extra time placing them all. Ultimately, it felt like Dr Rawal’s poor diagnosis of my donor site was an attempt to upsell me on poor-efficacy treatment options to make an extra $3k-$5k off for herself. Unfortunately I can’t comment on Dr Rawal’s surgical skills, but I find her business practices to be sketchy at best. Would recommend a second opinion before giving her a dollar. Thanks, Josh

a month agoDr. Rawl was very nice person and knowledgeable what I don't like that I just found out from my PCP that the oral minoxadol causes heart problems, there is even black box warning for this. I was never warned about these possible issues or I would have absolutely Never taken this med. Please inform patients of these serious warnings.
