Stem Cell Therapy & New Technologies
One measure of a clinic’s success, or indeed an individual’s development, is the constant pursuit of improvement, innovation, and the pushing of boundaries. Stagnant water quickly becomes polluted; the key to avoiding this is simple: continual movement. To stay fresh, we must keep moving. This principle applies to water, human bodies, and even mechanical instruments. Movement is life!
Dr. Bisanga has been at the forefront of research and development in the hair transplant field for the past two decades. He is an outstanding and proven hair transplant surgeon with a stellar track record. Recognized as a mentor, leader, and sought-after speaker, Dr. Bisanga could easily consider slowing down and looking towards retirement after 20 years at the top. However, instead of resting on his laurels, he maintains an unquenchable passion for investing in people and technology in the hair transplant and hair loss field.
So, what emerging technologies are we exploring? Integrating our proven hair transplant expertise with cutting-edge technologies that benefit patients has always been part of our vision. With this in mind, we are conducting trials using stem cells, specifically Regenera Activa Treatment, and we will also explore the potential benefits of Verteporfin for hair loss sufferers.
Regenera Activa is a stem-cell therapy involving a few simple steps. We will obtain the patient’s tissue via FUE, extracting approximately 50 grafts from 45 patients. These grafts will be used for stem cells, harvested from a permanent zone. Using the Regenera Activa Device, we will separate the stem cells and obtain the regenerative cells in liquid, injectable form needed to stimulate hair growth. These will then be injected into the patient’s scalp. Both the harvesting and injecting require only local anesthetic and are relatively painless, quick, and easy, with little to no downtime for the patient.
This treatment is safe, effectively using the patient’s own cells for stimulation with no risk of allergy or rejection. The patient will be able to resume their usual activities immediately after the intervention. This treatment is typically repeated annually or bi-annually, subject to consultation.
The patient groups will be divided into males and females who are not taking any hair-loss medications, whether stimulatory or blocking, who suffer from Androgenic Hair Loss, and who are willing to undergo the procedure. Patients will be required to keep us updated on their progress and stay in touch with the clinic for a 24-month period to provide accurate data on outcomes from the various groups.
